1. Be prepared
You can’t be a compelling leader if you are constantly worried about what you are saying next. If you want people to follow you, be prepared.
2. Shed the stoicism
If you don’t have interactions that embody passion, humor, or other elements of emotion, you won’t have a human connection.
3. Embody enthusiasm
Remember that charisma has a physical component. Pay attention to your body language. When you feel comfortable and in control, pay attention to your posture and how you are feeling. Make sure you work on your breathing to appear more relaxed and confident.
4. Be authentic
Don’t try to force a different style on yourself, it won’t work. When you force a style that isn’t natural for you, you undermine your own credibility. This goes for rote, generic responses as well.
5. Practice
Practice makes perfect and when you practice being charismatic, you increase your appeal and influence through repetition.
